Avowed is on track to be another unmissable RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. Ever since its inception in 2003, the studio has delivered time and time again – Neverwinter Nights 2, Alpha Protocol, Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, the Outer Worlds, and plenty others. That’s one reason I’ve been watching Avowed so closely since its reveal in 2020, with this fantasy adventure across the world of Eora continuing to impress each time it’s shown. Avowed is currently one of the most anticipated upcoming Xbox Series X games of 2025, a year which also includes other titles from Xbox Games Studios like Doom: The Dark Ages and South of Midnight. The Avowed release date was pushed to the new year to give Obsidian additional time to polish this adventure up, which should increase its chances of landing in the conversation surrounding the best Xbox Series X games. With the countdown to launch now on, let’s get you caught up with all the latest Avowed news and gameplay details. …
Now that there are less than 24 hours to go to the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release, the countdown to the DLC is well and truly on.While Diablo 4 has received a steady stream of seasonal content since its launch, they’re all stand-alone, so you don’t have to worry about being behind when coming into the Diablo 4 DLC. Vessel of Hatred picks up where the story left off, so the only thing you’ve really missed are various class balance patches and shake-ups to how things like loot and itemization work.So what’s Vessel of Hatred all about? We’re off to the familiar region of Nahantu to seek Neyrelle out as she falls deeper under Mephisto’s influence. Of course, it wouldn’t be Diablo content without new ways to boop ghouls over the head for loot, so expect plenty of fresh fiends and content. One of the main attractions, though, is the new Diablo 4 Spiritborn class. We’ve tried it for ourselves, and boy is it fun.”Blizzard doesn’t often add a new class to Diablo’s ranks, but Vessel of Hatred…

The gameplay seems just as unique as its surrounding setting, too – players can bend time to their will alongside their heroic party, a diverse crew that can consist of characters from different eras. Combat itself looks like a…
We’ve officially hit the endgame of big damage numbers in Diablo 4, folks. Thanks to a busted combo in the action RPG’s latest PTR server, one dedicated player cooked up the biggest number the game can feasibly handle, and then blew straight past it into the realm of literal infinity. The game just throws out the symbol for infinity instead of an actual damage number, like a white flag in the face of unfathomable DPS.Regular Diablo scientist Rob2628 shared this mathematical breakthrough this week, after a Chinese player shared it via bilibili, and I’m knowingly breaking the laws of news writing just to express these unholy numbers to you in full. Rob reckons the biggest number that Diablo 4 can register, on account of this being the limit for what “can be represented by a 128-bit unsigned integer,” is this:340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,455The largest single number he was able to capture on camera was this:333,515,323,498,366,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Destiny 2 is bringing back one of the series’ most overpowered weapons after a decade. The Ice Breaker Exotic sniper rifle, known for regenerating ammo that became a balancing nightmare for Bungie, is coming soon. In a blog post celebrating 10 years of the Destiny franchise, Bungie teased that “as you may have already guessed thanks to our key art, a certain Exotic sniper rifle, one considered a myth by many at this point, is resurfacing in the upcoming dungeon.” To hammer it home, Bungie adds, “we hope this helped… break the ice.”We don’t have any details about how, if at all, Ice Breaker will be reworked to fit into Destiny 2. However, since Destiny’s encounter design has significantly changed over the years with more complex mechanics, it may not be as powerful as we all remember. Gjallarhorn, another famously powerful Destiny 1 Exotic, was reworked considerably for its Destiny 2 debut, but still carved out a spot near the top of the meta. But Whisper of the Worm, a heav…
